Tuesday, the Crescent Committee will meet at the Iftaa' Department to monitor the sighting of the crescent moon, which signifies the end of the holy month of Ramadan. The results of the monitoring will be announced after sunset Tuesday.

The events that usually accompany the announcement are cancelled in light of the pandemic and in line with government's preventive measures to limit the spread of the new coronavirus.

The sighting of this month's crescent moon will also mark the start of the Islamic holiday of Eid al-Fitr, which is also national holiday.
